"Claims Regarding William Colby" section

I propose either we delete this section or expand it. Currently it hosts a single source's claims regarding UFO disclosure.

I see in the annals of Talk page history that the "Theories about death" topic () formerly discussed a wider array of wild claims. By and large I think the right call was made in pruning this section. ;) The article at large must not be a coat rack for fringe ideas.

If we are to keep this section at all, it seems absurd to include only a single claim that is saliently silly to most readers. Is there any opposition to bearing mention of other fringe voices, provided they have at least as much historical relevance as this Ufologist fellow?

For example, deleted in the kerfuffle was a reference to deceased Nebraska senator John DeCamp's claim that Colby had spoken of disillusionment with the CIA's use of children shortly before his death.

This claim has been published in two places: The Franklin Cover-Up, a self-published book by John DeCamp in 1992; and then in 2009 in The Franklin Scandal by Nick Bryant, published by TrineDay Press, a kooky micro-publisher that's been written about in Publisher's Weekly here.

These are absolutely questionable sources -- but are they any less wacky or historically relevant than those in the stuff to do with UFOs? Sartre Bimpson (talk) 23:22, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
