This article should redirect to "Herpetic Whitlow"
In current medical usage, a whitlow is not a felon, nor is it an infection of the pulp of the fingertip. This is indeed straight from Dorland's; however, this is archaic usage. Whitlow now only describes herpetic whitlow, which is a skin lesion. Melanotic whitlow is an archaic term replaced by more specific diagnoses such as melanoma or melanychia.
Wrong Translation

Wrong Picture
