Ancestry

This source explicitly says that its the Yugur language, not the modern Uyghur language, which is the "real" "Neo-Uygur language" (as in the genuine descendant of the language of the ancient Uyghur Khaganate.

Modern Uyghur is actually descended from the Karluk "Xakani" language, it was the official language of the Kara-Khanid Khanate and was documented by Mahmud Kashgari.
