Weli Oya is NOT a Village

[edit]

Manal Aru area in the Mullaitivu and Vavunia Districts was re-named Weli Oya in Sinhala by an extra ordinary gazette notification dated 16th April, 1988. Weli Oya was proclaimed the 26th District of Sri Lanka. There is already another page for Welioya Divisional Secretariat which is also listed in Divisional Secretariats of Sri Lanka list.

This article is misleading the readers and should be within Manal Aru village article which explain the detail history of Manal Aru or within Welioya Divisional Secretariat article.

I've moved the content of this article into Welioya Divisional Secretariat article. Shayanthan Kanaganayagham (talk) 04:44, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
The settlement of Weli Oya is different from the DS Division and pre-dates it by thirty years. We have separate articles for settlements and DS Divisions e.g. Jaffna and Jaffna Divisional Secretariat. And the way you copy-pasted the content from Weli Oya to Welioya Divisional Secretariat destroyed the page history of the former.--obi2canibetalk contr 10:50, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
