Replacement of sourced info with unsourced info

[edit]

MP324198, why have you begun an edit war to:

  • remove "private university from the lede
  • change the number of alumni in the lede although the cited source doesn't work
  • add this unsourced statement to the history section "Recent research has shown Webster was unoffically admitting Black students without the knowledge of Glennon."
  • remove information about the Confucius Institute supported by sources
  • remove information about the university's ties with Regent's University London, Kansai University, and the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara supported by sources
  • remove information about the university's Thailand campus supported by sources

Please explain your actions and reconsider your edit. Additionally, you may want to consider making smaller edits in the future instead of really large edits that do many things at once - it's much easier to explain smaller, focused edits than large, omnibus edits that span multiple sections and address different topics. Request for the Removal of Confucious Institute Reference

[edit]

The Confucious Institute reference should be removed. This page states that the institute currently exists. Webster University closed the institute in 2021, according to the US GAO: China: With Nearly All U.S. Confucius Institutes Closed, Some Schools Sought Alternative Language Support | U.S. GAO. Requested Update to the SPICE Section

[edit]

Can this section be updated to reflect that the program no longer exists? The last sentence does accurately say that, but the previous sentences in this section read as if the program is still continuing. Much appreciated. Inkyhack (talk) 22:00, 28 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Update to the Athletics section ...

[edit]

In the athletics section, it says the school's mascot, "the Gorlok" was named after the intersection of Gore and Lockwood Avenues in Webster Groves, which is accurate, but it includes this incorrect information: "the school's location at the corner of Gore and Lockwood." This can be easily fact-checked. Webster University is located nowhere near the intersection of Gore and Lockwood. Can that incorrection information be removed? (I can't find a source, but my understanding is that intersection was selected because it was the site of a popular coffee shop that students liked to hang out in at the time - however, I'm not asking that be added as that has no official source). Thanks. Inkyhack (talk) 22:05, 28 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
