Assessment Report

[edit]
  1. Article needs to be massively expanded using Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements as a guide.
  2. It should make use of sections, using Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements as a guide.
  3. Infobox to be added (use Template:Infobox UK place.)
  4. Photos need to be added.
  5. References and Citations are crucial for wikipedia, and so these must be added as the article is expanded. Make sure that as many as possible are "in-line" citations.(See WP:References, WP:V, and WP:CITE for guidance.)

Fales removal please revise

[edit]

Request for second opinion on listing Thomas Greenhall

An editor has removed the entry for Thomas Greenhall, stating that a standalone Wikipedia article must exist BEFORE he can be listed in the "Notable people" section.

This appears to conflict with Wikipedia guidelines:

 - WP:NLIST — People may be listed in a list or "Notable people" section without having their own article, provided they meet general notability and have a connection to the locality. - WP:PEOPLE — Listing in a town's notable people section is standard practice as the FIRST step; a standalone article is not a prerequisite.

Sources provided: Cheshire Tithe Maps, local historical records, brewery provenance. The entry is properly sourced and connected to the village.

Could a different reviewer please assess whether this removal was in line with policy? Thank you. Matthew j Howman (talk) 17:44, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Advise about using part proven conjecture when processing into history before 1000ad

[edit]

this comes from a few years of deep history research using my own local purposefully built ai to expand on the manors history i have found and proved lots around this village lots of this is unknown to other

Using the typical footnotes for these sorces will not be practical but will be possible of no alternative

As this is done in era order is it allowed to be in the text its self

For example

From the forster eyers rolls "Wiverham is the family caput of the de weaverhams family with later satilite settlements."

While its from memory it wont be for the write up showing how weaverhams history couldnt have been unpacked without ai etc

There are facts that it reveals after most known records types are erased eons ago by the earl of chester this erasure is also provable in records

Can you give me some quick do's and dont's please for this approach Matthew j Howman (talk) 17:59, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
