Rainbow tables and Zn air batteries
[edit]A newer variant of this is to use >64GB near end of life SSDs or repaired microSDs that have a rainbow table pre written. Also the addition of Zn air (ie hearing aid) batteries can substantially increase the chances of a working device after a long shipping delay and reduce the chances of Customs seizing the package for "incorrect label". If the device is also set up to detect a specific target SSID then power can be further reduced. A variant attack only turns the main device on if a target voice is detected.
