Source of content for Synopsis
[edit]Thefakemelissa I've noticed your additions to Warlight's synopsis. What is your sourcing for the content? If it is unsourced, how do you reconcile the additions with Wikipedia's policy for reliable sourcing? —RCraig09 (talk) 22:29, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
MOS:CHARACTERS
[edit]Hi RCraig09. Re my removal of the 'Characters' section in the Warlight article, I believe MOS:CHARACTERS is clear: "In most cases, no specific section on characters is needed."
The exception "...if a finely crafted plot summary cannot capture this aspect of a story, a Characters section may be warranted" doesn't apply, since the plot summary gives good enough info about the characters. What are your thoughts? — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 20:16, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- (The above 20:16, 31 July post is copied from my User Talk Page.)
- @Itzcuauhtli11: A /*Characters*/ section provides a concise summary. A detailed plot summary spreads out characterizations, making it harder for readers to quickly extract who characters are or how they relate. I can't claim it's "needed" but a concise description ("a sentence or two about each") is definitely a time-saver. And in Warlight the characters are definitely unique. —RCraig09 (talk) 20:55, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
