Strike that etymology assertion of mine. It seems more likely the term is from ἡγέομαι.

And I found the text in the cited source, but it does not substantiate the etymology claim:

Seeking a more nuanced descriptor for agents that induce arousal without the typical psychostimulant side effects, Jouvet proposed the term “eugregoric” in 1987.
