Webster's Third New International Dictionary (unabridged) gives "[origin unknown]" after the fish name wahoo, and it lists the exclamation separately. Wikipedia should not pretend to confirm speculative etymologies. Joel (talk) 00:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Hawaiian Dictionary (1986) lists ʻono for 'delicious' (from earlier *kono), but ono for the fish (from earlier *ʻono. In the Hawaiian language
