Orphaned references in Viluppuram

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Viluppuram's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "chair":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:12, 5 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Merge The Claribel Matric school

[edit]

There was an unsourced article about The Claribel Matric school. I redirected it to this article as it is recommended to merge into the local district's article. If anyone would like to use the content about the school to merge, it's in the history - (diff) — Zawl 17:11, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 11 January 2026

[edit]

I am requesting a small, grammar edit: the last paragraph of the header section (before the “History” section) reads:

In 1919, Villupuram city was officially constituted as a Municipality which today comprises 42 wards, making it one of the largest City in Tamilnadu.[1]

instead of “one of the largest City”, it should be “one of the largest cities” (uncaptialized and pluralized).

Also, I'd like to bring to your attention the way to present the population in the preceding paragraph: Viluppuram is said to have 1,91,131 inhabitants. While this is the usual Indian way of presenting large numbers, I am not sure if the English wikipedia should rather present it in the more universal notation (191,131).

Thanks for considering! Gwolf (talk) 16:17, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done I changed the number as well, as Wikipedia generally doesn't use the Indian numbering system. Day Creature (talk) 19:06, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
