Massive check needed

The Hindu seems to think Vijay Diwas is all about celebrating Indian victory in Kargil (See). Times of India seems to think it is not a regular annual happening (See). And, does this have to be put in a Bangladesh category, while a see also link to the Bangladeshi Victory Day, which is a major happening in Bangladesh. Aditya Kabir 11:39, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

There Are Two Victory Days

From one of the references, is seems there might be something politically notable about this confusion. Could someone with better sources add this? Also, it might be better to have images of the December 16 Vijay Diwas as well as for the July 26 Kargil Vijay Diwas. Create new Pages

Vijay Diwas

Two different pages have been linked on this page as they represent different events with the same name. This will help the user to obtain better information about the particular event.

Replacing the Disambiguation page

Rewrote the page to focus on Vijay Diwas (1971), replacing the disambiguation page. The previous disambiguation page was unnecessary, as it listed only two events, one of which did not have a dedicated Wikipedia article (being the Vijay Diwas of 16th of December). A simple distinguish tag has been added instead for clarity.

To bring further clarity, India observes two Vijay Diwas (Victory Day), one being on 26th of July known as Kargil Vijay Diwas and the other being on 16th of December simply known as Vijay Diwas. Thus this page is now dedicated to the annual observance of Vijay Diwas, instead of being a disambiguation page.
