Deoxygenated blood
[edit]It doesn't have to be deoxygenated in order to be called a venule, I think. Doesn't it, more exactly, need to carry blood away from the heart? I'm a bit rusty in this area so I'd prefer if someone could verify. Cerasti (talk) 21:11, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
A venule is a sub-type vessel. The order that vessels go in is as follows: arteries-->arterioles-->capillaries-->venules-->veins
Since venules leave capillaries after exchange has occurred in the tissue and lead on to make veins (a collective of venules=a vein), then it could be said that they carry de-oygenated blood.
Vunules do not carry blood away from the heart as that is what arteries do (aorta and pulmonary artery). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.25.238.93 (talk) 17:06, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
