Valmet did not purchase Volvo BM as stated in the original entry. Valmet and Volvo BM entered into a joint venture in 1979 to manufacture tractors under the Volvo BM Valmet brand. Volvo BM sold its tractor interests to Valmet in 1985, and continued to manufacture trucks, busses, construction machinery and other products.

AGCO ownership and Massey Ferguson

Should be pointed out here that some of the tractors are the same as the Massey Ferguson (compare MF 4400 and the Valtra A series for example), made in the same factory in Finland and only have a little difference in external bodywork.
