Valasca / Vlasta and the succession box
[edit]The article appears to conflate Vlasta with the Latinized form Valasca. The Czech Wikipedia page states explicitly: "Vlasta (latinsky Valasca)" and describes her as a figure of Czech mythology, a follower of Libuše, and after Libuše's death the leader of the women in the Maidens' War.[1]
The succession box I added is misleading and I plan to remove it. The standard legendary sequence of Bohemian rulers is Čech, Krok, Libuše, Přemysl, Nezamysl, Mnata, Vojen, Vnislav, Křesomysl, Neklan, Hostivít; that list does not include Valasca/Vlasta.[2] I realized this shortly after stumbling across another wikipedia page on the line of Boehemian rulers.
On the current page, however, the navbox inserts Valasca' between Přemysl the Ploughman and Nezamysl, while the infobox/succession line also presents her as "Ruler of Bohemia".[3]
Based on the Czech mythological treatment and the standard legendary ruler lists, a better description would be "Vlasta (Latin: Valasca), legendary leader in the Maidens' War", not a conventional ruler in the succession of Bohemian monarchs.[4] Sparks19923 (talk) 02:35, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
