Physical law use of term

[edit]

Continued from AfD discussion.

I remain fairly certain that universal law as a synonym for physical law is wrong. Universality is just one of the components of a physical law. For example, the common error of saying "Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation" when meaning "Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation." I couldn't locate any use of universal law as a synonym for physical law. I can't speak to universal law generalization, a psych concept, but I don't think it is considered a physical law, which supports my assertion. I'm not suggesting that there is no scientific use of the term--obviously, no one can know all of science--and the term's use in "Models of scientific inquiry" does suggest another use. But the former disambiguation entry linked to physical law, not to Models of scientific inquiry.

Scientific definition

[edit]

A large essay-style section has been added to this article, initially signed by "Dr. Georgi Stankov, Munich, Germany" - does this reference a published paper of Stankov's, or has this been added as a personal essay by Stankov himself? --McGeddon (talk) 14:51, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

philosophy definition

[edit]

Universal law is a kind of energy, like sea wave, which can explained by wisdom science, nature science and social science. (Johnchang6868 (talk) 10:30, 23 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

[John Chang] gave a reference publish book, or personal essay by himself.

This article is pure word vomit and completely senseless.

[edit]

I don't even know if it's right. There should really be a disambiguation page for the different senses of 'universal law', divided at least into usage in law/ethics, logic, and physics/science.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Carvelent (talkcontribs) 05:53, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Agreed with the above comment - in particular, the definition for logic is a tautology within a tautology — Sapiocrat (talk), 09:23, 22 November 2021 (UTC).Reply

Universal Law

[edit]

This article should more properly refer to the 12 Universal Laws of the Universe: Law of Polarity, Law of Gender, Law of Relativity, Law of Correspondence, etc. 2600:1012:B04F:A6E4:4D0D:3B6A:5770:8067 (talk) 22:50, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
