Number of islands in the group

In the "Top" material for this article, the first sentence (and paragraph) states that Uist is six islands, but the third sentence (and paragraph) lists ten inhabited islands. So how many islands actually are considered part ot the Uists, inhabited and uninhabited? I myself cannot answer as I am not an expert on the subject.
