Pony and V (Vlang)

[edit]

The Pony and V languages were summarily blocked from inclusion by certain editors. Special new criteria or preferences were imposed, beyond the languages having a Wikipedia page and notability.

The argument for Pony's inclusion: (1) for academic reasons, (2) to provide a diverse spectrum of examples for different kinds of languages, (3) and its association with famous computer scientists.

V, based on TIOBE and GitHub rankings, is verifiably about as popular as Elixir, D, OCaml, and Zig, which were languages placed in the article unchallenged and without abrasive reversions. Wukuendo (talk) 06:17, 28 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Editors, please do join the existing discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Computing#Significance of V (Vlang) and Pony to establish whether the inclusion of V and/or Pony in articles such as this has consensus. We needed a more central discussion as Wukuendo had inserted V and/or Pony into about 20 different articles such as this, been reverted and sought to address it on a user talk page instead.
