Cost

[edit]

An article about Liberty ships (calling them EC-2s) compares them to C2 saying, "An EC-2 can be built in from 60%, to 75%. of the time necessary for a standard C-2. Cost of an EC-2 is only $1.5 million to $1.7 million, as against $2 million or $3 million for a C-2." Sun Shipyard to Join In Launching of Twelve Maritime Craft Sept 27.
