Kosovo needs to be added to the map

Kosovo needs to be added to the map of countries with Turkish military bases, facilities and troops. Türkiye currently has 540 troops serving in Kosovo as peacekeepers in the NATO led Kosovo Force. 157.167.128.180 (talk) 11:07, 15 August 2025 (UTC)

Change "In an attempt to establish control over the power vacuum in Anatolia, the Allies persuaded Greek Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos to launch an expeditionary force into Anatolia and occupy Smyrna (İzmir), beginning the Turkish War of Independence." to "In May 1919, Greek forces, with authorization from the Allied Powers and under the government of Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos, landed at Smyrna (İzmir) and occupied parts of Western Anatolia, contributing to the outbreak of the Turkish War of Independence. During the occupation, sources describe widespread violence and atrocities, including massacres and forced displacement of civilians, including Turkish Muslim civilians." Proposed replacement for ‘Allies persuaded Venizelos’ sentence

@Flexagoon: I am opening this thread to establish consensus before reactivating the semi-protected edit request.

Current sentence: “In an attempt to establish control over the power vacuum in Anatolia, the Allies persuaded Greek Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos to launch an expeditionary force into Anatolia and occupy Smyrna (İzmir), beginning the Turkish War of Independence.”

Proposed replacement: “In May 1919, Greek forces, authorized by the Allied Powers, landed at Smyrna (İzmir) and began occupying parts of western Anatolia, contributing to the outbreak of the Turkish War of Independence. During the initial occupation, historians describe violent incidents against civilians, including killings and displacement affecting Muslim (Turkish) civilians.”

Reason for change: The current wording includes motive and influence wording (“in an attempt”, “persuaded”). I am proposing a date-specific, descriptive formulation that is easier to verify directly from the cited historiography, while keeping the second sentence explicitly attributed to historians.

Some emblems (especially Turkish Armed Forces and Land Forces emblems) look low quality and outdated, higher quality versions are available online. Might sound a bit unnecessary but they need a change, might give the wiki page a cleaner and more "official" look, and help the ones who look for using those emblems as a reference and such.
