Exploding turkey

[edit]

"There is also a possibility that an overheated turkey fryer can explode."

Wasn't there a MythBusters episode where they tried it out and found that it just spattered a lot, and didn't actually explode? --Bash 19:59, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Found it- it was the 2004 Holiday Special. It looks like the UL video shows them dumping a quantity of water into the boiling oil. Never a good thing to do. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 21:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

how to deep fry a turkey?

[edit]

It seems like this article should explain how to safely deep fry a turkey, rather than simply saying what not to do. It doesn't have to be a recipe, maybe just a simple explanation of what to do. If we leave it to people to figure it out themselves they are just going to go light themselves on fire while spilling hot oil everywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gary2863 (talkcontribs)

While this should not be a how-to, I did expand the safety section. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 20:26, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
