Hi @Srnec, nice to see you around! 😊 I noticed you were the original creator of this article. I've been recently reading one really fascinating paper on Trimithis, discussing inscriptions from an ancient school uncovered there, including a quotation from Euripides painted on one of the walls (apparently used in teaching); I thought that could be a great hook for Did you know. Would you be interested in collaborating to expand the article to make it eligible for DYK?

And regarding the lead image: I totally agree with you! It looks like the desert photo was pulled in automatically (perhaps via Wikidata), I did not choose to put it. I agree that the wall decoration is far more vivid, beautifully captured and representative. I'll swap the two. Mariamnei (talk) 08:45, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Euripides Hypsipyle on the North wall (inv. 13488): Before some papyri were discovered, this lost tragedy of Euripides was known only partially because of some short citations in the literary sources... Even though the contribution of room 13 of Serenos’ house is modest, consisting of only one line written in chalk on a wall, the discovery is valuable for several reasons. The second column of fragment 60 of P.Oxy. VI 852 was very lacunose, missing the right side of the lines. Scholars’ conjectures tried to fill the lacuna in line 86, but now the verse as it appears on the wall vindicates the opinion of D. L. Page versus that of Murray."

• x5 expanded recently. QPQ is done. Image is licenced and looks okay at main page resolution. No copyvios found on earwig or the one source I can access (Ast & Bagnall 2015). The claims of ALT1 and ALT2 are quite substantial, and I am hesitant to approve the hooks despite the sources. However, I found ALT0 more interesting, and it is supported by the quote given.
