Redirect

[edit]

Hello,

I noticed that Togolese redirects to Demographics of Togo, whereas I believe that it should redirect here.

Let me know what everyone thinks about changing this.

I believe most demonyms direct to demographic articles, absent better targets. I'm not sure why it would redirect here. CMD (talk) 06:49, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you want to link the word "Togolese" to the Togo article, you can do this: [[Togo]]lese. Kelisi (talk) 18:30, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Indigenous peoples

[edit]

Currently the lead of the article, in its second paragraph says "Various people settled the boundaries of present-day Togo between the 11th and 16th centuries." This is the first discussion of the people of Togo. Surely there were indigenous people like the Ewe living in the area prior to this settlement. I, however, know next to nothing about Togo or its history so I feel under-qualified to make changes here. Instead, I just want to point out that if there were indigenous people living there (and I find that highly likely), the introduction should mention them before mentioning the 11th century settlers. It'd be great for a person more knowledgable to comment on this critique. Jason Quinn (talk) 12:58, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
