Timeline of the Gaza warList of timelines of the Gaza war – This page is not one timeline, rather a list of links to different timelines within the Gaza war. A link to the gaza-israel conflict --> [1] should be included for context on the current war; in the beginning of the article. It should be included after "The Gaza war began on 7 October 2023 when Hamas launched coordinated armed incursions on Israel from the Gaza Strip.[1]" The new publication should look like this;

"The Gaza war began on 7 October 2023 when Hamas launched coordinated armed incursions on Israel from the Gaza Strip.[1] It is important to note that the Gaza-Israel Conflict[2] precedes the 2023 attacks. *As of 8 April 2025, over 52,000 people – 50,810 Palestinian and 1,706 Israeli – have been reported killed in the Gaza war, but this is not a conclusive list.

These changes are to be made to provide more context to the war, for the average viewer of the page; as well as the main statistics of casualties. Grubbin (talk) 14:41, 14 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Grubbin! Thank you for your comments. I agree with you that it is good to give some more context.
But, first of all, I have always understood that we should try to avoid "It is important to note that" - because it is up to our readers to decide what is important and what is not. So I did not copy that part.
Second, I tried to copy the sources from Casualties of the Gaza war because we can not use our own articles as sources for what we write. This went well for the Palestinian numbers, but not at all for the Israel numbers. This was such a complicated construction that I did not know how to do it.
So if anybody else knows how to add the sources for the Israeli numbers, please do so!

Reduction in scope for the timeline articles

[edit]

The various timeline articles contain things that are part of various conflicts that are related to the Gaza war, but are not part of the Gaza war. For instance, this page lists the Attack on Hezbollah headquarters as a section of the Timeline of the Gaza war, even though strictly speaking, that should only be covered by the Timeline of the Israel–Hezbollah conflict (2023–present) article.

I think the scope of these articles should be reduced so as to only cover the Gaza war. VoicefulBread66 (talk) 01:12, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

A late answer, but I agree with you VoicefulBread66! Lova Falk (talk) 18:01, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
