[edit]

Hey,

There's a mistake in the first section of this article.

"Though if you study the mirror the left candlestick's reflection appears as if it would appear behind the actual clock."

I believe that whoever added this aside actually meant the right candlestick.

I've removed that sentence entirely, since it made little sense and was written poorly. Anndelion (talk) 21:45, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The intro contains these sentences: "He made this painting for his wife who died from a runaway train in London. She tripped over the tracks, soon being struck by the ongoing train." There is no reference, and the context makes it unclear whose wife is referred to. Aimzzz (talk) 14:24, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Locomotive

[edit]

I have removed the reference to the locomotive being a Black 5 as it clearly isn't. Black 5s, with 6ft driving wheels, had no splashers ('mudguards')over the driving wheels, the locomotive in the painting does. It could be a Jubilee but I don't think so as the loco in the painting is too massive. It is not an original Royal Scot and nor could it be a rebuilt Scot as they weren't rebuilt until 1943 on. However the experimental loco Fury (based on a Royal Scot chassis)was rebuilt in 1935 and became 6170 British Legion. This was the precursor of the later rebuilds of the rest of the class. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millend (talkcontribs) 18:41, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re the above - although it's self-evidently a 4-6-0, is there any evidence that it's an LMS locomotive? I've added a {{cn}} tag for the moment. Tevildo (talk) 13:44, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
