Proposed sourced addition to Contributions section

[edit]

Hello,

I would like to propose a small, sourced addition to the Contributions section noting Alfred North Whitehead as an acknowledged influence on Tim Ingold’s thinking. In the preface to Being Alive: Essays on Movement, Knowledge and Description (2011), Ingold explicitly states that the works of Henri Bergson and Alfred North Whitehead had a “profound influence” on his thinking (p. xiii). I am proposing wording along the lines of: “Ingold has cited the work of Henri Bergson and Alfred North Whitehead as significant influences on his thinking, particularly Whitehead’s process philosophy.”

Please let me know if there are any objections or suggested adjustments before I proceed. Student anthro dk (talk) 07:03, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Go ahead! Read WP:Be bold for the general policy of article development. — Rgdboer (talk) 22:44, 29 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
