[edit]Per wp:english wp:commonname. "Canonical sundial" is not actually a thing, whereas "tide dial" is. Google Scholar tells the same story. The current gloss in the "Other names" section is, aside from being unsourced and full of tone and bias issues, misinformed. The Old English tides were nothing more nor less than the hours and the canonical hours in particular. — LlywelynII 14:02, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
