Unfortunately, while I do think your concern is warranted, I really don't think there exists any high-quality, free images of his newer appearance. I do have a screencapture of a webcam video, but I think it's maybe a bit too low quality in comparison. We could also use a slighty newer picture by Gage Skidmore (a bit higher resolution than the official portrait) but his appearance remains unchanged. Sorry, due to copyright restrictions, only free photos (either public domain or under a free license) are permitted to be used. Honestly, since his 2024 and 2022 appearance doesn't differ that much, I don't think a change is necessary, though since the photo is a bit higher quality, I wouldn't mind it. We should use the File:Congressman Thomas Massie on Epstein Files Transparency Act Release Deadline - 12-18-2025.png as it meets the free criteria in addition to being the most reflective of the time. The link for candidate Gary Moore refers to an Irish musician who died in 2011. I'd change it myself if I knew how but the edit page doesn't make it clear where the link to the wrong Gary Moore is. Brids17 (talk) 20:16, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

Rittenhouse quote misleading

The article current reads as,

In September 2020, Massie said Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted of first-degree intentional homicide after shooting two people at a protest following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, had shown "incredible restraint", noting that Rittenhouse "didn't empty a magazine into a crowd."

The full quote from the citation is this:

“He also exhibited incredible restraint and presence and situational awareness,” Massie reportedly said. “He didn’t empty a magazine into a crowd. There were people around him who could have caused him harm, but as soon as they showed any sign of retreat or nonaggression, he did not shoot them. He exhibited more restraint than a lot of the police videos I’ve seen.”

Massie went on to say there needs to be a review of the Jacob Blake shooting, which sparked the protests in the city.

“It needs to be reviewed, everybody gets a trial,” he said. “Frankly, I am not as aware of that situation as of the Rittenhouse situation.”

As written, the article makes it sound like Massie is arguing that not firing into a crowd implies restraint, which is very different in tone and focus than what is written in The Hill.

I suggest rewriting this as

In September 2020, after Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree intentional homicide for his role in the Kenosha unrest shooting, Massie defended him, saying Rittenhouse showed "incredible restraint and presence and situational awareness," with Massie arguing that Rittenhouse did not fire indiscriminately into a crowd and stopped shooting when people showed "retreat or nonaggression." Rittenhouse, who shot three people, two fatally, was later acquitted of all charges.
