Requested move: Thiruvananthapuram → Trivandrum

I propose moving this article from Thiruvananthapuram to Trivandrum in accordance with Wikipedia's article title policies, particularly the principle of using the name that is most commonly recognized in reliable English-language sources (see WP:COMMONNAME). Although Thiruvananthapuram is the official name, Trivandrum continues to be widely used in English by local residents, educational institutions, businesses, media, and in some contexts by state and central government bodies. Before deciding, it would be useful to examine current usage across high-quality reliable English-language sources to determine whether Trivandrum remains the common name in English. There are lot of inconclusive discussions went through the talk page. However, user who was arguing in favor of thiruvanantapuram kept arguing that, if this page moved to Trivandrum, then, the same should be applied all cities of Kerala. And user who was doing counter argument was mentioning about more common use. I will come up with more details or evidences though to continue discussion. SMIndian (talk) 18:54, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
