Music By should be Harold Arlen, not Herbert Stothart

In the right-hand box, the "Music By" is listed as Herbert Stothart, but this should be Harold Arlen, who was the composer. Stothart was the arranger and should be listed as such. ~2026-18344-25 (talk) 18:32, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

Well, Template:Infobox film is a little confusing on this matter. Yes, Arlen wrote the famous songs but Stothart is credited for the score and Stothart is who won an Oscar for his work. Please do not post the same thread in multiple places, per WP:TALKFORK. The infobox documentation seems pretty clear to me: Insert the name(s) of the composer(s) of the original music score. They are usually credited with "Music by". Composers credited for "additional music" and songwriters should not be included. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:13, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

Asbestos being used for snow has no source

The source given for the claim that asbestos has been used for the snow in the film has no mention of asbestos being used for snow, only for fireproof clothing. Any other claim online also has no source, and the only claim that has proof is that white gypsum (drywall) was used. The only reason people say the snow was asbestos is because everyone else was already saying it. The only claim I've found out of a ton of research was a newspaper article titled "Movie 'snow' was hazardous to actors' health" from somebody who claimed to have information from the set without any verification of this claim. The claim that white gypsum was used was found in "The Wizardry of Oz : The Artistry and Magic of the 1939 M-G-M Classic" by Jay Scarfone, whose source was from the makeup artist Charles Schram who had also claimed to had needed to "pick a lot of 'em (gypsum) out of wigs" due to this. They were about a half inch in diameter.

If I were to suggest something, though, as the primary source for the white gypsum is nearly as minimal as the asbestos claim, I'd not have this claim in the article whatsoever. ~2026-40778-45 (talk) 21:18, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
