approved for prerequisite requirements, if I am not wrong. Personal approval goes to ALT2 or ALT3 because I like DYK's short and sweet myself. But will not object to main hook. BarntToust 16:48, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Adding my personal two cents here: I don't think ALT0 is particularly interesting; a lot of action films bring back killed-off characters. I think ALT2 and ALT4 are the most interesting hooks when taking into consideration that readers might not recognise any of the names listed here. Yue🌙 22:56, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your review, BarntToust, and for your suggestion, Yue! Yue expressed concerns that ALT3 (which features Yuen Qiu) might not appeal to a broad audience, and I placed ALT4 last because I believe Jackie Chan doing his own stunts is not particularly notable. So perhaps we should go with ALT2, as both of you preferred this hook. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 07:16, 6 September 2025 (UTC)

- @BarntToust, Yue, and Prince of Erebor: I was looking to promote, ALT2 but the source (when translated by google) seems to just say that he talked to the director then 48hours later was location scouting (pre-production) not shooting the movie. I could be wrong as I am relying on translation and don't read Mandarin. That said people know Jackie Chan does his own stunts, but still 71 years old! ALT4 cool to be reminded/one may not know he is still doing stunts
- @SquawkGuard: Yes, it was indeed 48 hours before the crew went to Macau to location scout, which is technically during pre-production but still part of the film's production overall. If you find the wording of this hook a bit ambiguous, perhaps we can go with ALT4. I like that one a lot too and I am sure mentioning Jackie Chan will definitely catch the readers' attention. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 19:40, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Prince of Erebor: Since its just pre-production then I think ALT2 is out as not that interesting. I tried thinking of a different wording, but I don't think that saves it. Shooting a movie as the cinematographer with only two days prep would be HUGE, but many people begin work on pre-production quickly when they get hired. "began location scouting two days after being hired" would be a more accurate phrasing. But no worries cause ALT4 has the goods! 71 years old and still doing stunts is interesting and clickworthy. I think that's the one to go with. – SquawkGuard (talk) 21:26, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- I am totally cool with ALT4! —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 21:30, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

Yuen Qiu is still in the movie
[edit]Unless the bluray version is different or there are different regional cuts, shes in the movie at 1:04:05. Shes the owner of the apartment that jackie breaks into. ~2026-11089-78 (talk) 07:45, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I am aware that she is the owner of the house that Jackie Chan and Zhang Zifeng broke into where she retained like 10 seconds of screentime. That was why I included her name in the Cast section, rather than in the Post-production section stating that all her scenes ended up on the editing room floor, and I chose the phrase "ultimately cut from the film" instead of "entirely cut from" per WP:SOURCEWRONG, even though all news sources have incorrectly reported. I have thought this through, mate. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 13:45, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
Plot: 2025 and Judiciary Police setting
[edit]@Prince of Erebor My recent edit is on WP:PLOTSOURCE, while yours are on WP:OR. I found the explicit plot in the movie directly. Unless otherwise specified, timestamps refer to the version I can see (with the golden dragon of "CHINA FILM ADMINISTRATION" at very first).
At 0:01:06, the monitor on the car which the adaptive sons driving on Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge shows the date 16, Aug, 2025 and time 4:28 (probably am). When the police discovers them, no codenames were used at first.
It is evident the main character are in the Judiciary Police throughout the movie: not only the uniform, but also the "澳門司法警察局刑事調查廳行動指揮大廳" in the top-left corner of the big screen and the logo (that of Judiciary Police is basically a rectangle, while that of Public Security Police Force a hexagram) on the back in the big room of the police. At 0:06:52, the dialogue is "這裏是司警局刑偵指揮中心" said to the bank. Beefwiki (talk) 06:27, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Beefwiki: Right, I think I can give the time setting a pass and I do not mind you adding it back (even though I do not see how it matters to the plot or any readers would be curious to know on which day the film takes place). However, I still do not understand how the footnote about the difference between the Judiciary Police and the Public Security Police Force you added is not an OR and how it is relevant to the plot. I think it is okay if you just replace "the police" with "the Judiciary Police", but the footnote should be dropped. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 16:05, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for passing both of the plot sections. Regarding the footnote, it is better to let only editors to know the difference between the two forces, so an invisible comment fits this purpose. Beefwiki (talk) 06:46, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- I have no problem with the hidden text and I agree that your new edit seems to be the most fitting way for the article. Thanks for your tweaks! —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 20:08, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
