Why is the LGBT template here?

Possibly because of gender identity questions it might raise. Perhaps it is because the boyfriend of the hot chick eventually recognizes her in the wrong body but cannot bring himself to kiss her in mans body. (Linked article makes comparisons to the film Prelude to a Kiss (film) which might be worth noting.) Unless someone adds some relevant material with references, I would seriously consider removing the tag. Before removing the tag a request should probably be put directly to project LGBT to at least explain but preferably add to article. -- Horkana (talk) 02:03, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

See WP:CATDEF (which is preferable), and see also WP:CATVER. At the bare minimum readers and editors should be able to verify, not guess, why a category or Project banner has been included.
