Inconsistency in date of first settlement

The lead states "originally settled by Polynesians between 300 and 800 AD" but the History section states "sometime before 500 BC". I personally do not know which is accurate but there should obviously be consistency. Jp2207 (talk) 00:47, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

hi, You make an excellent point! I just made the corrections. The correct dates are between 900 and 1100 AD --- i.e. 1500 years later than what was previously stated. That's a massive difference! Thanks for calling our attention on this. -- Womtelo (talk) 10:51, 19 February 2025 (UTC).

Geology section move?

I propose that the Geology section here is moved to the Society Islands article (which itself fails to mention any geology). The contents are certainly not Tahiti specific. Comments? Jp2207 (talk) 19:16, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
