@Johnuniq: Thank you for pointing that out! I submitted a report at https://github.com/ms609/citation-bot/issues/4302

I do some contributions to the bot by discussing at User_talk:Citation_bot or by submitting pull requests to https://github.com/ms609/citation-bot/pulls?q=author%3Amaximmasiutin

However, I don't have idea myself how to fix this bug, so I submitted a bug report.

Johnuniq, the developers of the bot has fixed this error yesterday. I tested the fix and now the bot didn't make improper replacement of the '|' character.
