I don´t like this, I think is better to do like metadone for heroine, because the abstinence of cocaine causes apathy, depression, nervousness, lack of concentration, and somnolence, and I think is better give to the drug-adict a substitute drug. I have tested methylphenidate, and I see that is the best substitute. Maybe biperiden serve too and combination with clomipramine or another tricyclic antidepressant, but methylphenidate has lower side effects. The abstinence is similar to attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder mixed with some of akathisia, probably because there isn´t less dopamine in the brain. The opiates/opioids can serve for treatment of cocaine adiction, but theese have more side effects than methylphenidate or biperiden/clomipramine.Excuse me for my english I´m from Spain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Juan pablo jm (talkcontribs) 15:25, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Similar vaccine for heroin from Mexican scientists

[edit]

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/24/heroin-vaccine-human-trial_n_1299329.html & http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/feb/24/mexican-scientists-test-heroin-vaccine

Perhaps someone could discover the research name or code for this vaccine, and start a similar page on it. Nagelfar (talk) 20:06, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
