[edit]What is that corporate philosophy stuff? Does anybody want to read it? I'd say: scratch it 62.178.193.144 22:42, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Removed "corporate philosophy" section. It's nothing but marketing jargon, and it violate's Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. GordonF238 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why was the "corporate philosophy" added again? The only potentially interesting bit in this section is the announcement of becoming a carbon neutral business by 2013. The rest should be removed from the article.Sluzzelin 07:34, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Swiss Re and Carbon Commitment
[edit]Section deleted, leaving carbon commitment info only. --TresRoque 14:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
"Subsidiaries" section
[edit]I question the point of a subsidiaries section when the article only goes on to list one of Swiss Re's numerous subsids.--Zoso Jade (talk) 14:04, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Swiss Re's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Swiss Re. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

A temporary account keeps re-adding improperly sourced items to this article, as well as engaging in synthesis and original research. I'm moving the discussion here from thier talk page since their TA is either being reset between edits or there are multiple people from the same organization (see below), making discussion difficult. I've re-reverted their most recent; they've ignored the issues I raised in the edit summaries so I'm listing them again here so they can respond.
1. diff: "I've posted the online website reference for these messages received by employees."
The provided source says nothing about screenshots of a message exchange, or any of the other details in the edit.
2. diff: "This is part of the article. ref: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/russell-higginbotham-fcii-6a87921_im-really-excited-to-be-taking-part-in-the-activity-7393707147861336065-E3Kk"
Nothing in the source provided mentions what you've added; you are synthesizing this conclusion by combining other reporting with original research gained from a LinkedIn account.
3. diff "you removed a 2nd source without naming them. Please clarify your intention"
I restored the second source with the next edit.
4. diff "properly credited with source references. you may read through the documents."
There is literally no source referenced. The text says "Online commentators have discussed ..." Online article comments are not a reliable source. In the second paragraph, posting a link to a document and saying it omitted something (whether true or not) is original research. Also in the second paragraph, comparing one company's actions (favorably or unfavorably) to another company's and making a judgment call based on that is original research.
5. diff "credited with the person and sources. you may help refine and discuss if you think this is fake news"
Again, you've provided no person or reliable sources. You refer to "witnesses familiar with", "it is further alleged", "some have characterized" followed by more original research by describing the conduct as running counter to policies, and then citing those policies. You then followed this with more original research: "would likely also include", "which would have been plausible", "though this has not been independently confirmed". You again reference online comments as sources: "One commenter ... wrote" and "Additional commenters characterised such misconduct".
Please resolve these concerns before reintroducing the edits. You appear to be approaching this Wikipedia article as if you are reporting on a news story, and running afoul on many core Wikipedia policies in the process. Please read the links above, which explain these policies in detail. Continually re-reverting your changes is edit-warring and can result in loss of editing privileges.
Lastly, you wrote "Can you also clarify if you are a paid editor by Swiss Re and if there is a conflict of interest you have yet to declare? We would like to interview you as part of our upcoming article - you can be a confidential source.
"
I have no conflict of interest, your edits appeared on the Recent changes page and were flagged as "Likely bad faith" so I made appropriate changes. You, however, do appear to have a conflict of interest—who is the "we" you refer to? If you are being paid to make edits to this article, or if you represent one of the sources you are referencing then you need to disclose this and propose changes here on the talk page instead of making them yourself(selves). Celjski Grad (talk) 08:13, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Celjiski Grad
- Firstly, thank you for pointing out the changes required and clarifying your no-conflict interests.
- What you are telling me is that as long as a journalist reports this with all these documentation and more or in a court document referenced somewhere, this can be updated here?
- Please confirm as you seem like an expert Wiki person and I am asking for your expert advice! ~2026-49209-37 (talk) 09:12, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Of course a public court judgement or document.
- I noticed you deleted the public eye section on carbon commitments as well - any reasons why? This is well documented that has ran for years.
- Oh, like all volunteers we don't get paid. I'm closely following this as part of newly obtained Swiss residency and hope I contribute my skillsets to my new country as a journalist. Hence the bad editing in English so please forgive my language skill.
- As for sources represented, I do have to say many current and past employees living in the city work for the company and my neighbour too! Not a source but if that is helpful for me to add the neighbour as an editor of this page with first hand knowledge information this would be good.
- Lastly reaching out for more sources as collabarating with a swiss big paper on this. Rest assured, all the above you pointed out will be shared. We would also like to interview you and happy to travel to Slovenia (near us) in person if you are keen. We want to represent all perspectives including folks like you.
- Thank you for your consideration and enthusiastic editing which we will add into the article. ~2026-49209-37 (talk) 09:23, 11 September 2026 (UTC)

- I deleted the public eye additions so I could roll back to a previous edit, and then restored it with the next edit as the edit summary says.
"we don't get paid. I'm closely following this as part of newly obtained Swiss residency and"
Again, who is the "we" you keep referring to? And why do your IP addresses indicate you are editing from a country that is not Switzerland? Your neighbor, if they work for the article subject, would also have a conflict of interest if they edit. They would also not be a reliable source.- You "collabarating with a swiss big paper on this" (What is "this"? Article edits?) indicates an external relationship that needs to be disclosed. Celjski Grad (talk) 09:43, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this all out. Again, we extend the offer to speak directly with you in an interview with your inovlvement in the edits, it would further provide a balanced view of all as you represent no conflict of this.
- Not to worry, when the swiss big paper writes, it will be properly sourced. You are free to help re-edit the updates and contact the editors too.
- Thank you for your contributions to Swiss Re and Switzerland.
- I also love Slovenia ~2026-49138-07 (talk) 11:03, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Please excuse my poor English. As you have identified I am a refugee obtained status of Switzerland and I truly want to create a new career in my new home country.
- If you agree to an in person interview, I will try my very best to find funds together with the editor to meet you for an interview. It would also help me see Slovenia. A country I have never been to and without this interview I would have no opportunity to visit the country.
- Help me please to agree to this interview. ~2026-49138-07 (talk) 11:05, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- I want to thank you for helping me improve my language and editor skills. I came to a new foreign land and I saw the big building of Swiss Re. THe company logo is to help the community and I was helped by Switzerland when they accept me as refugee. I confirm I am not paid by the company but I want to do my duty to contribute to Swiss Re and switzerland as much as I can. My next company is UBS editing. I will do my utmost best to learn from you. I thank you very muchly again for your kind words. I know I will make it as journalist in this country that accept me. I want to ensure you that I spoke with the editor (I am not paid I confirm) and for your interview invite, the newspaper is willing to meet you in your country or pay a rail ticket (we calculate our co2 very closely and only ceos can travel first class I am very sorry about this) and your accommodation. I have checked that it will be motel one for you. Not to worry the meals and every other expense will be covered for you. I will personally meet and greet you with red carpets and I also wrote to the Swiss Re CEO to arrange a meeting for you to share your perspectives in a global dialogue between slovenia and switzerland on this topic. I found out it is a very important topic at swiss re because diversity is important like females, they are invited to hotel rooms for the ceos and clients for employee engagement and client entertainment as part of the swiss re hospitality I understand. This I cannot promise you but I will personally ask the group ceo Andreas Berger in email if heh can help extend this to you special guest. If not, the group chairman Jacques de Vaucleroy is also an option I will try my very best to ask by email. I am very hopeful and wish you to kindly consider this interview request so we also have someone from another country speaking about the topic. I thank you very much. Slovenia is a beautiful country. I can only watch on youtube as I save my passport dearly and I don't want any stamp on my new swiss passport. Thank you Swiss Re and Switzerland. I love you! ~2026-49214-57 (talk) 19:31, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- I've reverted your latest edits to the article as they have simply reintroduced the above issues. Also, why, if you are a Swiss refugee (and now Swiss citizen) does your latest edit say "I am in Africa and I have nothing to my name"? Celjski Grad (talk) 07:45, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
