Edit Request: Restructuring Biography with "Research" Section and Major Awards (2021-2025)
[edit]Hello. I am a former doctoral student of Dr. Sudha Ram. Because of this close professional connection and potential Conflict of Interest (COI), I am submitting this formal edit request on the Talk page rather than editing the article directly. I kindly request an independent editor to review and integrate these verified milestones into her biography.

The current page focuses heavily on specific campus administrative data projects. To better reflect her 40-year academic legacy, I propose establishing a dedicated "Research" section to highlight her core methodology focus and her extensive history of mentorship. 1. Summary of Updates[edit]
2. Proposed Text Additions[edit]For the Lead Section (Introduction): Please append this sentence to the end of the first paragraph: She is an INFORMS ISS Distinguished Fellow, an AIS Fellow, and in 2024, she received the AIS LEO Award for Lifetime Achievement, the highest honor in the information systems discipline. New Section to Insert Below "Career": Research and Mentorship[edit]Ram's primary research interests reside at the intersection of Big Data analytics, machine learning, and large-scale network science. Her methodologies incorporate statistical approaches, ontologies, and conceptual modeling to extract actionable insights from both structured and unstructured data streams. Her research initiatives have secured more than $70 million in funding from federal and corporate agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), NASA, NIST, and the CIA Office of Research and Development. Over her career, she has served as the primary dissertation advisor and mentor to more than 30 Ph.D. graduates, many of whom have gone on to hold prominent faculty chairs, tenure-track positions, and top administrative leadership roles—including business school deans—at major universities globally. For the "Awards and Honors" Section (or appended to Career): Please add the following bulleted career accolades:
3. Verifiable Sourcing[edit]Please use these official institutional links and profiles to verify the additions:

[edit]- Your edit request could not be reviewed because it is unclear which references are connected to which claim statements in the text of your proposal. When proposing edit requests it is important to highlight in the text, through the use of ref tags, which specific sources are doing the referencing for each claim. The point of these inline ref tags is to allow the reviewer and readers to check that the material is sourced; that point will be lost if the ref tags are not clearly placed. Note the examples below:
Examples |
|---|
In the first example above there are three references provided, but the claim statements do not contain ref tags indicating which reference applies where. The references instead have been placed outside of the text, bundled together towards the bottom. Your edit request similarly bundles references together outside of the area of the requested text. These links between material and their source references must be more clearly made, as shown in the next example below:
|
- In the second example above, the links between the provided references and their claim statement ref tags are perfectly clear. Kindly reformulate your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience.
