Intertitles

[edit]

Perhaps some reference should be made to the way in which the intertitles ("Why I Needed a Win" etc.) are highly reminiscent of Woody Allen's, in the font, background, (White Garamond on black backgrounds) and music.

Review:

Hey, well done on this article! I love the show and this article is very interesting. I cannot see any big issues and Earwig shows no copyright violations. I did various edits around clarity, MOS and grammar, but I also have various comments for suggestions, especially regarding WP:READERSFIRST:

Lead - the lead is quite short, could you please expand it?  Done

Plot - The plot looks great and I have made a few changes, but there are a few sentences that are not super clear for readers who do not watch the show - could you please try to make some of the things slightly clearer if possible (e.g. explaining the relationships between the characters and who Future Ted is)? Also, it would be great if you could link Don to a subsection or something to help aid readers.

  • Don linked
  • Future Ted explained in lead

Production:

1.) "but the episode, like the majority of the series, ended up being filmed on a sound stage in Los Angeles, California" - Can you potentially explain why the episode ended up not being shot in New York?

  • No reason was given

2.) "Despite this, the episode makes various references to the New York City setting" - Could you give some examples?

  • The articles didn't give any examples, it just says they happened

3.) "The episode is for the most part self contained" - Can you please explain or clarify what "self contained" means in this context?  Done

4.) "although it does progress some of the various plot threads" - Can you please give some examples?  Done

5.) ""Subway Wars" features the song "Marshal vs The Machines", sung by Segal" - Is it possible to expand on how the song appears (does someone sing it, is it just played in the background of a scene, etc)?  Done

6.) Can you please clarify which type of streaming the song was available on?

Broadcast:

1.) "the episode finished sixth of the night overall, just below House but above Two and a Half Men" - Can you please clarify this as the wording is a bit confusing? Perhaps "it was the sixth most watched show of the night on CBS"?  Done

Reception:

1.) "Povich's inclusion was met with mixed reception" and "The episode was somewhat poorly received on social media" - could you please expand on these?

  • Once again the source doesnt really go into it

2.) "Screen Rant's Mariana Fernandes noted it was one of the higher rated episodes of the series one IMDb." - I am a bit confused by this as this episode is from the sixth series - can you please clarify?

  • A double typo, it meant to say "of the season on"

3.) "noting that it easily could have been self contained" - could you please explain or clarify this?  Done

Other - this article could do with a few free images to meet the GA criteria - perhaps a picture of Maury Povich in the reception section and Craig Thomas in the production section?

  • Added one of Povich and one of Fryman

Once these have been addressed and fixed I will do a source spotcheck and hopefully pass the article. Please let me know if you need any assistance or have any questions! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 21:49, 18 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hey, thank you so much for your changes - they have really strengthened the article! I was trying to do a source spotcheck but I could not access several of the sources. Could you please archive the remaining sources so I can do a spotcheck and so that readers can access the sources? DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 01:22, 20 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
The futon critic source appears to be dead so Ive replaced it, The Atlantic source is archive protected (but hypothetically you could right click the link and select "save as" to get around it), IA bot is down currently so Ill manually archive the other sources soon but the remaining ones should still be accessable Olliefant (she/her) 02:45, 20 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I have just changed "the gang" to "friends" as readers may know who the gang is (they may think it is a literal street gang). I have spotchecked sources #1, #7, #12, #19 and #22. I am passing this article - well done! :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 05:19, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
