How separate from one is Stansted Express?

How separate from one is Stansted Express? Does it really need a separate article to itself, or merit being described as a ‘company’ on the template? David Arthur 22:59, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Although Stansted Express is owned and operated by one, it is the only part of the company that still runs under its original name (unlike 'one Anglia', 'one Great Eastern' and 'one West Anglia'); consequently, it should be listed seperately Hammersfan 10.13 BST, 27 March 2006

Brimsdown, Ponders End and Broxbourne

As much as we wish it would, the Stansted Express does not stop at any of these stations during the morning peak or indeed, ever. There are Stansted Airport bound services that stop at Broxbourne occasionally, but they are not Stansted Express services, they are regular stopping services. I have left the text there, but I am convinced it's wrong. I believe that the person who wrote that may have got confused when he/she saw a train or trains bearing the logo; this however, does not mean that it is a Stansted Express Service. Criticism

The concept / problem of getting into the paid side of a station in the London PAYG area but then getting onto a train that goes outside that area is by no means limited to Stansted Express trains, though I accept that Stansted may be one of the most used stations so affected. 82.45.172.71 (talk) 14:41, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Route

It would be interesting to know which route(s) the service usually takes between Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale. I assume it doesn't (usually) go via Stratford as it is not listed as a stop, but it isn't obvious that it goes via Hackney Downs. 82.45.172.71 (talk) 14:44, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Stratford link

Just found a direct train from the airport to Stratford (London) in December. AI says the route starts 13 Dec. Can't find any website info or press on it. Any ideas? -Chumchum7 (talk) 02:21, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

Thanks. In case of interest to you, the now purchased ticket is on 27 Dec at 14:41 direct from Stansted Airport to Stratford. Think the new timetable is active from 14 Dec. Perhaps we could turn that travel search entry into a WP:V source somehow? Never seen this connection in my life so it's quite an event for anyone trying to get to/from that airport south of the river (changing for the single Jubilee Line tube and then London Bridge). It always used to be a faff going via Liverpool Street and then TWO tubes, with a horrible change at Bank. Plus crazy for people living in Stratford having to watch Stansted Express trains zoom past and not stop. Good news. -Chumchum7 (talk) 11:51, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

That's exactly what I am saying: that ticket I bought shows no interchange at TH. Unless trainline.com got it wrong, the next direct train is at 14:58. Test it if you like with my coordinates and let's see what happens. -Chumchum7 (talk) 13:16, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

See here which covers service alterations (including 27 December, the date you mentioned). It's likely only happening because the line between Stratford and Liverpool Street is closed for maintenance over Christmas.
