However, 9 days later, on November 24, 2021, Yahoo News published the above writing by Patton, where she falsely wrote that Rittenhouse's possession of the gun was “illegal."
This constitutes defamation, and is the reason that Yahoo deleted the piece.
The fact that Patton is a journalism professor makes this especially notable. If anyone should know enough to not commit this kind of defamation, it should be her.
I believe there has to be criticism published in what's considered a "notable source," but y'know, having just read a bizarre screed where she claims that white supremacy is epigenetically translated & asking her for evidence is a racist indignity that white PhDs would not be subject to (she conveniently doesn't clarify her PhD is not in biology) I would not be against it.2601:984:8101:9B70:A05F:33F1:F27C:1865 (talk) 05:20, 7 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
It seems that there are many editors in Wiki that don’t like it when truth which makes people with the same opinion as the subject, look bad. I added Stacey Payton’s own rant against those she seems racist and how someone (not her of course) should attack them like John Brown did, which means killing them. The person who “fixed” my edit said it caused an error, and the fix was to completely remove the information that made Patton look bad. Rediranch (talk) 15:43, 24 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
