Since Google Translate suggested the translation of the Russian Советский Комитет Защиты Мира as "Soviet Committee for the Protection of the World" and a common Polish name is "Soviet Committee of Defenders of Peace" (both which yield 0 hits in English) I looked up some other names:

Overall, the Soviet Peace Committee seems the most popular name, but care should be taken when doing research on it, as there seem to be quite a few alternative name translations. --_{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk} 18:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I removed the passage that 'No dissidents were admitted to the SPC'. Sovmir.co.uk is not really WP:RS, its more a self-published websites it seems. It fine for uncontroversial statements, but I think some other arguments should be backed up by more solid refs. The statement that no (i.e. zero) dissidents (which is a category which is not easily defined) is quite strong, especially since SPC had a mass membership. Evidently, there were some in the SPC who in some terms could be seen as 'dissidents' towards the final phase of SPC's existence. --Soman (talk) 22:11, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
