I request for where it says "Use British English" to be changed to "Use South African English" please. ~2026-20815-60 (talk) 18:12, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before posting an edit request. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 18:46, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
No, a lot of Somalia was colonized by the British and they use British English there. Just because its an African nation doesn't mean South African English should be imposed HerrHeulsuse (talk) 10:01, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

"Homogenous" is not a real word

[edit]

Common mistake, but the word this article is looking for is "homogeneous," with two Es, and not "homogenous," which only has one ~2026-38365-89 (talk) 18:07, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Establishments (Warsangeli Sultanate)

[edit]

Warsangeli Sultanate, one of the oldest and longest ruling sultanate is missing from the list. ~2026-41238-35 (talk) 18:47, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not every single Somali sultanate needs to be listed there, I've removed the not-so-significant ones HerrHeulsuse (talk) 23:13, 8 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sub-grouping pronunciation notes (lower-roman)

[edit]

FYI, I've separated the lead pronunciation notes into a lower-roman group ({{efn-lr}}) under Notes. Placing standard lower-alpha tags directly after 'Somalia' rendered a superscript [d], which at a glance visually blends with the word and can easily be misread as 'Somaliland' or a typo ('Somaliad'). Hence the change.—JoeJohnson2 (talk) 20:33, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

This could easily become a good article

[edit]

If it was trimmed, it already has good sources, good prose and all the basic information to be comprehensive HerrHeulsuse (talk) 19:53, 8 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Comparision of size to Jordan

[edit]

The lead of Somalia is slightly shorter than Jordan, should be expanded once everything else is finalized

History section of Somalia is much larger, but pre-history should be expanded slightly with everything else cut

Geography should be cut in half, with habitat merged into the main section, and environment being split between the main section and climate

Culture, and economy is about the same in both articles

Demographics might be slightly cut, while government and politics may be slightly expanded. HerrHeulsuse (talk) 17:38, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Demographics is okay now, with the exception of the health and education section, which jordan combines and in which it is shorter HerrHeulsuse (talk) 07:15, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
