[edit]A video of earliest appearances of smear frames: I found the first smear frame ever - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 20:20, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
Example of a smear frame.
[edit]I think the lead image on the article should be reverted. The new example from "How a Mosquito Operates" may be the earliest, but it's not illustrative of what smear frames actually look like in modern times. Verbatos (talk) 06:03, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
- True but the topic isn’t about modern smear frames. It just says the first smear frame. ~2026-42073-32 (talk) 20:31, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
This is in fact NOT true
[edit]This isn’t true because the real first smear frame was in 1912, How a Mosquito Operates. It’s barely there but it is still a smear frame. Suggest you change it. This finding was made and proved by a Youtuber named Zane Little. ~2026-42073-32 (talk) 20:30, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
Against reversion of YouTube citation
[edit]Despite the fact that citing a YouTube video as a source is somewhat frowned upon that should not be seen as grounds to revert factual information in the article. Likewise, the video provides visual evidence for the date of an earliest known smear animation and it really just seems senseless to strike the whole thing from the record because someone values the letter of the guidelines instead of the spirit of them. ~2026-42367-04 (talk) 23:21, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
