Fair use rationale for Image:Sky Multichannels.jpg

Image:Sky Multichannels.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. The Weather Channel on Sky Multichannels

While The Weather Channel is mentioned on the article in the 1996 section, it's not on the infobox in the 1996. Is this a mistake? According to the main Weather Channel article in the international section, Weather Channel UK operated from September 1, 1996 until January 30, 1998 when it was shut down due to low viewership. On satellite, it broadcast for five hours each day, from 6 am to 11 am. It shared channel space with Sky Movies Gold/Sky Box Office 2, The Racing Channel and Galavision. On cable, it was generally on air for 24 hours, but it was only carried by some companies as others chose to carry similar rival service the Weather Network which also launched in the UK in 1996. Both were designed for cable as it had local weather information for specific regions.

I also have a Sky leaflet from 1997 or so that shows The Weather Channel as part of the Sky Multichannels: JCC the Alternate Historian (talk) 22:30, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
