How about: ALT1: ...that on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper, Vomitorial Corpulence wish graphic violence on Satan, who a music scholar says is among the only acceptable targets of violence in Christian metal?
That is far too long and complicated. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:51, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I felt that was too clunky. I'm finding it difficult to find a different hook that works for both articles and is interesting; I may have to split this into separate nominations.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 01:28, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Narutolovehinata5, how about the following? I know it's still lyrics-based but a bit more grounded in critical response.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 15:20, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

ALT 2 ...that on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper, Vomitorial Corpulence was noted for its use of humor?

If that's not acceptable, then there's this one:

ALT 3 ...that most of the music on Karrionic Hacktician was released before Skin Stripper, but the latter album was released eight years before the former?

Neither of these hooks as currently written seen interesting (ALT3 might be possible with less confusing wording). Before we continue with ALT3, do you have any ideas on separate hooks for the two articles? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:50, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

ALT1 may still be salvagable with something like "that Vomitorial Corpulence wish graphic violence on what one music scholar described as (among the only acceptable targets of violence in Christian metal) on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper", but it would need an exact quote.--Launchballer 10:56, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Like this?: ALT 4 "...that the graphic violence against the demonic on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper one scholar said teaches that "it is acceptable to direct anger and violence toward Satan and his agents"?-3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:45, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Narutolovehinata5, Launchballer, I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner, but here's a different hook that works for both articles but also should be interesting:

ALT 5: ...that some of the songs on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper are only a few seconds long?

And the sources for that hook are, in addition to the tracklisting itself, these: , . Both are cited in the respective articles.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:45, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Narutolovehinata5, Launchballer, how are we on this?--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 17:24, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I like ALT5 the most among the proposals. While I would still like to see individual hook proposals for the two albums, this is more for completeness's sake and I would be okay with ALT5 by itself. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 09:38, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Narutolovehinata5, thank you, good to know. I'll propose some separate hooks below.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:52, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Separate hooks, per reviewer suggestion:

ALT6a: ...that the music on Karrionic Hacktician was released in 1995, but the album wasn't released until over a decade later?

ALT6a2: that Vomitorial Corpulence consider Karrionic Hacktician to be their 1995 debut, but it wasn't released as an album until 2006?

ALT7a: ... Karrionic Hacktician was considered by one reviewer to be a "masterpiece" of grindcore?

And

ALT6b: ... that the album art of Skin Stripper includes Stefan Lochner's depiction of the flaying of Batholomew as well as graphic medical photos?

ALT7b ... that the extreme metal album Skin Stripper also includes two country music interludes?

Narutolovehinata5 and/or Launchballer, what do you think of these separate hooks?--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:52, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

ALT6a as currently written is confusing. Did you mean "recorded in 1995" instead of released? Or you mean the songs were released separately first and only released in an album later? If it's the latter, that's not uncommon. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 03:03, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
All but the two bonus tracks on the end were released together on the same recording. It was a compilation with other artists. So the songs together as a stand-alone album were not released until 2006. I might need to tweak the hook.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 12:52, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I rewrote the hook to sound a bit more interesting. IDK why I'm getting such writer's block with these.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 13:26, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the separate hooks, but upon further reflection, ALT5 probably remains the best option here. This is ready for a full review: I'm not sure if I can do it, so another editor is free to take over if I don't review within the next few days. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:15, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Will review in the next 24 hours.--Launchballer 03:06, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Long enough, new enough. Earwig has no valid complaints and both QPQs are done (although at some point we might want to hammer out exactly who and who isn't a good fit for DYK given we yeeted an alleged abuser's daughter in December yet nobody's objected to an article about a convicted mass-murderer in the month since you approved it!). Not a DYK issue, but you really should split the Background paragraph in half because it's uncomfortable to read (and perhaps some detail can be trimmed). Technically the sub-minute tracks on the albums are not songs, so I'm going to approve ALT5a: ... that some of the tracks on Karrionic Hacktician and Skin Stripper are only a few seconds long? and see how anal the promoters are feeling. Let's roll.--Launchballer 13:48, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Technically I think they would be songs, but I'll also let the promoters make that judgment.--3family6 (Talk to me|See what I have done) 15:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
