Position

[edit]

Is he not a holding midfielder? I'll admit I've only seen him play in the recent games shown on the tele, the LC SF v Hibs and the SC QF v Motherwell, but on both ocassions he has played in midfield. Caledonian Place 05:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could be. Saints' profile has him as a defender, however (though with their spelling, it could just be a coincidence the letters came together that way). I haven't followed the injury situations, but if they've been short of midfielders, that would explain why he's playing higher up. - Dudesleeper · Talk 06:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

German Nationality

[edit]

Despite being born in Germany, is Mensing not a British passport holder?

There was much editwarring on the Accies article over his nationality, with no evidence provided by either side. Soccerbase offers no info in his nationality field: playerhistory.com says both German and English. Although a passport is a matter of public record, it is not easily verified, and would only prove that he is of the UK, not that he is English. Evidence? The Times describes him as "An Englishman who was born in Germany" - which is exactly what he is. GiantSnowman 21:40, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
