Zelda reference
[edit]I have to admit I fail to see why a TikTok meme about the species is more notable than a videogame that has sold upwards of 3.5 million copies to the point of keeping the former and deleting the latter. I'm rusty at Wikipedia and I can try to find a reference, but shoebills are very obviously the inspiration for the Loftwings. It may be a generational thing, but I assure you that Skyward Sword is where a lot of Zelda fans first learned about the species. It's like how a lot of people would never never heard of echidnas if it wasn't for the Sonic the Hedgehog. SparkyLurkdragon (talk) 03:09, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Because more people have seen the TikTok videos of scary shoebills than they have of the Loftwings in Skyward Sword. Sound sample?
[edit]You should probably add a sound sample of what the Shoebill sounds like whenever it slams its beak, it does that naturally but I'm not sure why. NerfCataclysm (talk) 15:33, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
Shoebill
[edit]The article on the Shoebill is well done, I just think the range could be a little more specific, like specific colors tell the amount of Shoebills in that colored area, like, for example, a green area means there are a lot of Shoebills in that area and a red area means barely any Shoebills in that red colored area, this is just a suggestion, if there is no specific way that you can make it like that due to scientific research than it's fine. ~2026-38377-05 (talk) 22:46, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
