Muhammadu Dan Shanono First Emir of Bukuru
[edit]The first Emir of Bukuru was Muhammadu Dan Shanono who was the grandson of Abubuakar Dan Zannuwa. He ruled Shanono from 1905 to 1916, and in 1916 he was deposed, as a result he relocated to Bukuru, an area that he was already conversant with when he served as a tax collector there. He established and led a traditional system of governance for Bukuru and his descendants still remain the dynasts of Bukuru. He was the father of Mallam Halilu and, so, the grandfather of Talban Karaye , Alhaji Jafar Muhammad Shanono. Bukuru is today under the leadership of Mallam Nasiru S.
