[edit]This article seems to be originally created only for electron-induced secondary emission. Actually, an incident particle could be any particles, although an electron and ion are common. So I think this page need to be more general and at least both electron-induced and ion-induced secondary emissions should be mentioned. -- Mindgame123 05:45, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. It seems the title is overly broad; the two phenomena for secondary emission are largely referred to as "sputtering" in the case of ejected ions/atoms and "secondary electron emission" (currently a redirect to this site) for ejected electrons. Maybe this article should be a brief paragraph that leads the reader to either sputtering or secondary electron emission articles? The article "Secondary electrons" should also be moved to a new "secondary electron emission" page, in my opinion. In any event, this needs some fixing up. Tevonic (talk) 20:55, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
