I don't feel like I have enough background here to be able to directly contribute here coherently myself, but here are some suggestions I have:

To find citations for statements where bias / conflict of interest wouldn't be a concern (i.e. it shouldn't be used for awards and achievements), Volvo's "Press & Media" website has a bunch of useful articles and photos, e.g.: https://www.volvocars.com/intl/media/press-releases/?q=%22Scalable+Product+Architecture%22 (lists matching press releases), https://www.volvocars.com/intl/media/search/results/?q=%2522Scalable%2520Product%2520Architecture%2522&tab=press_releases (lists matching press releases, images, videos, and documents, but only seems to show the latest 12 of each?)
To cite these press releases, I'd recommend using {{cite press release}}, e.g. {{cite press release |url=... |access-date=... |title=... |date=... |publisher=Volvo }}, and to cite photos (e.g. one of these for the "V526" model code), I guess {{cite web |type=Photograph |url=... |access-date=... |title=... |date=... |publisher=Volvo Cars Media Intl }} is good enough?
Note that some of the old links redirect to press releases on the current website, but they don't always go to the correct one. To improve resiliency to link rot, I think it could be helpful to include both URLs, by putting |url= with the current URL and |archive-url= with the archive of the old one, if available (or if not, you could put it in a comment, e.g. ).
The second-generation / "II" labels on the models are very confusing in various ways: Volvo seems to be very inconsistent about specifying the generation they're talking about, but also it's not obvious to me what "II" means. Especially given this, I think it would be best to cite sources to verify these, e.g.: "Volvo Cars celebrates four million cars produced on SPA architecture for the XC90" (Press release).
